At the Šiauliai Academy of Vilnius University, lectures for students were delivered by Dr. Inese Abolina, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Latvia and Head of the Research Group at the Institute of Economics and Management Sciences. The lecturer arrived under the Erasmus+ staff mobility programme.
During the visit, she met with the Vice-Dean for Research at Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy, Prof. Dr. Diana Cibulskienė, and the Director of the Regional Development Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lina Garšvienė. The meeting focused on discussing future cooperation opportunities, initiating joint research projects, and strengthening international academic relations.
The lectures, delivered to students of the Bachelor's programme in Economics and Investment, explored the role of leadership in organisations during times of crisis, as well as strategies for employee motivation and retention under challenging economic conditions. The lectures combined theoretical content with active student engagement – students worked in groups, developing plans aimed at addressing the analysed crisis situations in organisations.
This practical approach enabled students to better understand the application of theoretical knowledge in real-life situations, while fostering critical thinking, decision-making, and teamwork skills. These lectures not only broadened students’ knowledge of contemporary management challenges but also strengthened their preparedness to operate in a dynamic and uncertain business environment.
