Researchers from Šiauliai Academy, specializing in management and natural sciences, who are implementing the “MIESTOlabas” project funded by the Lithuanian Research Council, participated in a scientific and practical conference held at the VILNIUS TECH Sustainability Center “From Idea to Impact: Living Lab as a Space for Co-creation and Change”.
The event featured presentations on the living labs being implemented as part of the project, which seek sustainable solutions for the development of urban green spaces.
“What will the Talkša and Salduvė Parks look like in the future?”—this is a question that not only the park’s residents and the people of Šiauliai are seeking to answer, but also representatives from the fields of science, business, the Tourism Information Center, and the Šiauliai City Municipality.
Does nature “care” about this question? Experts in ecology and environmental studies participating in the living laboratories will help answer it.
Participation in the conference provided an opportunity to share project experiences, discuss the application of co-creation methods, and strengthen ties with other living lab practitioners in Lithuania from the Lithuanian Social Sciences Center, the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, the Lithuanian Energy Institute, the Nature Research Center, the Lithuanian Science Council, and others.
“MIESTOlabas” is a research project funded by the Lithuanian Research Council, carried out by a group of scientists, titled “Co-creation of the Value of Urban Green Space Ecosystem Services in a Living Laboratory” (No. S-MIP-24-18).
