On September 8, a delegation from the University of Nebraska at Omaha visited the Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy. During the visit, the guests met with the academy’s administration.
The director of the Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy, professor Renata Bilbokaitė, welcomed the guests to Lithuania, presented them with souvenirs from the Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy, and emphasized the importance of this long-standing cooperation between the universities. The partnership between the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy (formerly Šiauliai University) began 28 years ago. For this reason, this relationship between the institutions of higher education is deeply cherished and highly valued. The students visiting from the U.S. said they were enchanted by Lithuania’s natural beauty and the hospitality of its people.
The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s jazz group “Jazz Combo” (artistic director and conductor Dr. Pete Madsen) will hold a concert in Šiauliai to mark the 30th anniversary of cooperation between the cities of Omaha and Šiauliai. The “Pavasaris” women’s choir from the Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy (artistic director and conductor Gediminas Ramanauskas) will also perform on the same stage.
